I am privileged to co-chair the annual Hotel & Lodging Legal Summit at Georgetown University Law Center. For this year’s conference, our seventh, we are trying something new. A common theme that will run through most of this year’s sessions is risk allocation. Primarily, we will discuss allocation of risk among the three principal communities in the hotel and lodging industry: owners, brands and operators. One panel will add lenders to the mix, exploring how risks are allocated in three-party agreements that include lenders. Another will explore allocation of risk to insurance companies. As always, the conference will feature a panel of industry general counsel representing hotel owners, brands and operators. This year’s keynote speaker will be Sheila C. Johnson, the Founder and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts. Check out our brochure for more information on this year’s conference. Click here register for the conference.
